Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was in full swing this season in New York. For some reason or another, everyone headed over to the tents in Bryant Park. We were lucky enough to have been in the tents this past Wednesday to experience some of the fashion madness that swept the city. It was amazing to say the least.
The tents were jam packed with all sorts of fabulous people and photographers. You already know we were LOVING the open bar as well. The drinks were fabulous and of course we were double fisting with champagne and flirtinis all night. They did an incredible job this year with all the sponsor booths set up throughout the tents like Maybelline, AOL, and a booth set up for Haiti. Some of the celebrities we saw roaming through the tents were Jessica Biel, Nicole Richie, and Julia Stiles. In between mingling, getting our photograph taken, and going through an absolutely bizarre interview with Starbucks, we attended the Brian Reyes show and the Alexandre Herchcovitch show.
Alexandre Herchcovitch’s collection was FLAWLESS. Lots of soviet-inspired colors, plaids, and the most dominant theme: metallics. Each look was topped with a handkerchief wrapped around each model’s head which further accented the folksy, European vibe that ran through the whole collection. It will be no surprise when these looks are spotted on the red carpet this season.
Brian Reyes was the final show of the night and found us sitting across the runway from Jessica Stroup of 90210 fame. His collection took on more of a neutral, gray pallet with lots of crop tops, full-length skirts, and pant suits. While it wasn’t an absolute favorite, it was definitely a good try and a success. His runway was also one of the longest we’ve seen in Fashion Week history.
It was a glamorous and extremely fashion forward evening. Fashion Week is such a fabulous time in New York City and the shows this season completely brought it to another level. We can’t wait for next season.
