I can be a freak. I can be a freak. I can be a freak. FREAK. Our Vid of the Day, is Estelle’s “Freak” produced by David Guetta. The song features an interpolation of Soul II Soul’s “Back To Life” holla. The video is darker than we had initially suspected and doesn’t highlight the fashion choices enough, but it’s coo’.
This is Emiliana Torrini, a singer and song writer from Iceland who became well-known at age 17, after singing, “I Will Survive,” at the song competition of junior colleges in Iceland. She is most noted for co-writing Kylie Mingue’s “Slow” and “Someday.” Here’s Emiliana’s vid for “Jungle Drum.”
Who needs Kanye? This is Kanye West’s new video that Kanye is not actually in at all. This video is pretty amazing. Maybe Kanye should stay out of all of his videos in the future.
KANYE WEST “Coldest Winter” Directed by: NABIL “ITUNES link below” from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.
The Scenestirz’ good friend turned us on to this song nearly a few days ago and much to our surprise the video has just come out. For some reason we love this skanky trash Cascada. She really can turn a dance song out. She’s lightin’ bitches on fiyyyaaahh!! Pyromania, Cascada, pyromania.
Visage are a British pop band. Formed in 1978, the band became closely linked to the burgeoning New Romantic fashion movement of the early 1980s.
December 1980 saw the release of their second single, “Fade to Grey.” The single became a huge hit in early 1981, making the top ten in the UK and several other countries, and reaching no.1 in Germany and Switzerland. It was quickly followed by the release of their self-titled debut album which was also a chart success.
Looks like Kelly Osbourne was inspired in a big way as well as you can see below.
The Black Eyed Peas are kind of amazing. They have combined two of their singles “Imma Be” and “Rocking That Body,” into one brilliant futuristic robotic music video. Our fav part of the entire 10 min, is actually the beginning when Fergie wakes up and walks the line in the middle of the desert in some ridiculous metal bodysuit, with Plexiglas wings, a visor, and silver metallic Christian Louboutin’s. Sick.
If there is one thing you may have gathered about the Scenestirz by now it’s that we love anything sinister and are obsessed with all things “Plastic.” This classic video from the 90’s seems to have combined the two.
We give you two more reasons why we think V.V. Brown is going to hit the music scene in the U.S. in a big way.
Vanessa Brown (born 24 October 1983), known as VV Brown, is a British recording artist, songwriter and producer signed to Universal’s Island Records in the United Kingdom and to EMI’s Capitol Records in the United States.
Vanessa Brown was born in Northampton. She is the eldest of six siblings and is of Caribbean parentage, her mother being Jamaican and father being Puerto Rican. She attended Overstone Park School near Northampton, which her parents own and work at. Brown learned to play the piano, developed her vocals and took classical and jazz piano lessons at a musical arts school which she attended at the weekend. Growing up, Brown listened to early 20th-century jazz artists like Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie. Brown gained four “A” grades at her A levels, studying at Kingsthorpe Upper School (now Kingsthorpe Community College) a year early and was offered places at five top UK universities including Oxford, King’s College London, LSE and York. She declined the offers to follow a career in music. P. Diddy attempted to sign her to his label Bad Boy Records, but she turned him down.
VV has been building a pretty big buzz over in the UK, she has even sung backup for Madonna on a couple tracks. We think VV is like a cross between Amy Winehouse, Beyonce, and Lou Armstrong. She is going to be one of the artists to watch for in 2010.
Fusion Music is a sub genre of Reggaeton. Calle 13 helped introduce this genre, and are the most famous artists to sing it. It’s also known as Alternative Reggaeton. Danny Fornaris is the most famous producer in this sub-genre, known as Luny Tunes. Other artists who also helped expand this genre are Audi, LG and Voltio in the song “Vacila como eh”, and Don Omar’s “Jangueo” from his album King of Kings.
Here is LG with Cuchi Cuchi. The way LG looks, the way LG moves, a cameo from Liza Minnelli, wet panties, crazy old people, and a Beyonce look alike makes this one HOT Vid of the Day.
